How To Install .jar Mods!
The way you explain how to install java mods, is wrong. Minecraft servers The reason is because when you put the java file into the mod folder, it will just perform as a standard mod until another section of the ".minecraft" folder is beeing used. This is exactly what I mean.
1. Cut or copy the jar files but don't put them in yet. Open the folder for versions and create a new folder based on what you want to name it 3. Paste the jar file in the folder you just made. Copy the jar file into the folder again however this time with a different name. Open the jar file using notepad, copy all the text and exit the file 6. Remove the copied file 7. Create a new file (most likely it will be a txt-file) and name it exactly as the jar file's name is 8. Once you have it exactly written as the Jar file and saved with that name as an .json file 9. Open the json file with notpad and paste the next you copied 10. Start the launcher , and then select the mod you wish to "made."

Open the versions folder and select a folder you don't need (if the mod is using 1.7.10 it is necessary to locate a folder that runs the 1.7.10 minecraft version 12. Copy the jar file into the folder you've selected. Change the name to match the json file. Launch the launcher and select the version you want to use.
If you're unable locate the folder, you can go back to the versions folder and look for the last edited folder. Then, you can rename it according to your preferences. I recommend to rename the files inside that folder exactly what the folder is named.
